This is an exempt position responsible for in-depth research, analysis and final correspondence on Unclaimed Property Interest Assessments, levied by the states. This position is also responsible for the annual review and research of all state regulations maintained on internal matrices and applications to ensure our reporting practices are in compliance with state statutes. Active participation in all activities surrounding Unclaimed Property system development and process improvements in order to accommodate all Unclaimed Property regulatory changes is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned):
Maintaining State Assessment Logs to track the progress made on each assessment.
Contacting States for additional backup associated with the assessments and maintaining that backup
Research and Analysis of each account included in the assessment to determine rebuttable cases. Maintaining records to support decisions made.
Meeting with management to review and approve analysis and prepare the rebuttable instances
Quantifying each rebuttable instance in documentations for correspondence.
Create correspondence with the state to request abatements for management approval.
Management of responses from the state and submission of additional correspondence, if abatement denied.
Annual Research of each of the state regulations that the incumbent is responsible for, to update internal matrices and applications.
Support in the creation of a Desktop Manual that summarizes reporting requirements for internal staff members.
Any change in regulation must be relayed to the Unclaimed Property Reporting and Administration, for action internally.
Official draft notifications to Operations management, Relationship Management and Clients.
Submission to completion of Unclaimed Property development items based on changes in state regulations.
Participation in all Unclaimed Property system development and process improvement meetings.
Responsible for the recordkeeping and completion of all development tasks associated with system changes until completion, for management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
5 years business experience and/or associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills is a must.
Must be analytical and able to learn quickly
Excellent communicaiton skills
Understanding of the Unclaimed Property process helpful but not required
