Computershare IT Internal Audit is part of the broader, global Computershare Risk & Audit team with IT and non IT audit personnel located in each of the primary Computershare regions. IT Audits' main client is CTS (Computershare Technology Services) who provide all IT related infrastructure, development and business support services across the Computershare regions.
The IT Audit universe is risk based, and the team work with local and global management to improve the wider control environment whilst seeking to add value to the existing process and controls through efficiencies and controls based improvements. Additionally, a focus on the delivery of integrated (business) audit activities is incorporated.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Global Head of IT Audit candidate can be based in either Bristol UK or Canton USA. This role plays a key role in Internal Audit's mission to assist Computershare in achieving its strategic objectives through independent and objective risk management, control, and corporate governance assessments. It helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
The role holder will be responsible for leading and monitoring the IT Audit Team to ensure execution of the Board approved Audit plan and that all Audits are performed in accordance with Industry and IIA standards and meet regulatory requirements.
The role holder will liaise closely with external service providers, CTS Senior Management, Regional CTS Risk and Security Managers and the business managers. Additionally, the role will incorporate the establishment of an on-going relationship with our external auditors to ensure respective approaches and strategies are complimentary, mutually beneficial and offer value for money.
Development of a Global IT Audit plan in alignment with non-IT audit plans and identified associated business and technology risks determined through interactions with other audit staff, IT Management, CTS' IT Risk and Security Manager and regional Internal audit management.
Leads and manages an audit team by planning, scheduling and supervising multiple risk-based audits and special projects; prioritizes and delegates work, ensures the accuracy and completeness of the work, trains, coaches, motivates, team builds, sets objectives and manages performance.
Ensures the timely preparation of detailed objectives, relevant and concise reports of audit findings and recommendations for line management and executive summaries of significant issues and opportunities for Senior Management.
Interfaces with regulators, external auditors and client audit management on internal audit related issues.
Attends and reports to the various Audit Committees on IT audit related issues.
Contribute, where appropriate, to investigations relating to fraudulent or suspicious activities, coordinating efforts and forensics with internal and external sources as required while maintaining complete discretion and confidentiality
Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies
Degree level education
Proven expertise in leading and managing an audit team, ability to lead, develop and motivate others
Excellent knowledge of corporate governance, risk management and auditing methodologies
Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
Proactive attitude to building working relationships
Adaptability, including flexibility for travel
Desirable Skills, Experience and Competencies
Relevant IT audit / security certifications (e.g. CISA, CISSP or similar)
Global team management experience
