Summary:

This position is a six month contract. Reporting to the Design Team Lead, this role will be responsible for preparing documents in line with customer expectation and to internal standards, work instructions and procedures. Documents need to be turned around efficiently and with quality which includes the maintenance of a document and customer related product database.

 Major Responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of quality documents.
• Efficient and speedy turnaround of jobs.
• Accurate recording of time used for each job.
• Maintenance of a customer and product related design database.
• Maintenance of a template library for standard documents including layers.
• Accurate production customer requirements meeting required time lines.
• Liaison with programmers to ensure efficient and cost effective development of static document elements.
• Proof reading of all jobs within the design department.
• Output of documents with 100% accuracy.
• Provide advice to internal and external clients relating to production design issues.
• Continuously review design procedures and processes with a view to improving business profitability, customer service and quality.

Skills and Experience:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in advertisement publishing, film production or other small article production is an asset.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or certified Graphic Designer.
• Demonstrated experience in desktop publishing in a high volume, fast turn-around environment.
• Strong ability to produce small jobs under pressure in line with customer timelines and to a high level of quality.
• The ability to look at continuous improvement in the context of the tasks being performed and providing feedback to management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of attention to detail and quality

• Adobe Indesign (PC)
• Quark Xpress (PC)
• Experience with PC's
• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
• Microsoft Office
